BRAND-PUBLISHED NOTES · PARFUMO COMMUNITY SCORES

Lattafa Asad · At a glance

Black pepper and pineapple over coffee, iris and patchouli, finishing on amber, vanilla, dry woods and labdanum. Declared a men’s fragrance by the house.

An editorial candidate for a cold-weather signature and for readers who want the amber-spicy register without a designer price. This is Asad, not Asad Elixir, Asad Bourbon or Asad Zanzibar.

What does it smell like?

The opening is sharp and slightly odd in a way that works: black pepper first, then pineapple, which in this context reads less like fruit and more like a bright, faintly resinous lift. Tobacco sits behind both and keeps the whole thing from smelling fresh.

The heart is the interesting part. Coffee and patchouli together give a dark, bitter-sweet centre, and iris adds a dry powderiness that stops it becoming syrupy. It is not a floral heart in any recognisable sense.

The base is amber, vanilla and labdanum over dry woods, with benzoin adding a balsamic sweetness. The movement is from a spiky, almost metallic opening to a warm resinous finish, and the second half is what you will be wearing for most of the time.

This is our reading of the composition as published by the house, not a wear test.

Where these notes come from

The notes are the house’s own: Lattafa publishes a three-tier pyramid on both of its domains, and Parfumo — the one genuinely independent source for this brand — confirms the same skeleton, abbreviating the base to three materials without contradicting it.

Two reservations. The concentration is not written on either of the house’s product pages; the Eau de Parfum designation comes from the official US store’s own Eau de Parfum collection, cited below. And the launch year rests on a single documentary chain: the house’s descriptive paragraph, which reproduces Fragrantica’s text verbatim, and Fragrantica itself. Parfumo states the release year is unknown. We publish 2021 as the house’s own claim and record the divergence here.

Choosing the right version

The Asad line has grown: Elixir, Bourbon and Zanzibar are separate fragrances with their own pyramids, and there is a two-bottle anniversary set. Compare the full name, not the bottle colour.

Longevity and projection

The longevity and projection scores on this profile are Parfumo community ratings for this exact fragrance, checked on 3 November 2026 — not a SCENTIVOIRE skin test. Parfumo publishes no versatility score, so we show none. Your skin, dose and climate will change the result.

Longevity

Parfumo members rate longevity 7.9/10 (2,290 ratings).

Projection

Parfumo members rate sillage 7.7/10 (2,283 ratings).

Versatility

Pending. Parfumo publishes no versatility score, so this profile shows none rather than an estimate. The season suggestions below are guidance, not a score.

Best seasons to wear it

Autumn and winter are the comfortable range. In mild weather the pepper and pineapple stay legible; in real heat the amber base is the part to reassess. Editorial suggestions, not seasonal scores.

Who is it for?

For someone who wants a dark, sweet-spicy masculine profile and is willing to sit through an unusual opening to reach it. If you want a clean citrus or a single-note wood, this is not it.

What others compare it to

Asad is frequently proposed as an alternative to Dior Sauvage Elixir. We are not making that claim as our own: every source we found asserting it is a forum post or database review written under a pseudonym, and one of those same sources says the opposite — “just got Asad and it’s nothing like Elixir”. Parfumo’s community list of similar scents does put Sauvage Elixir first, but that is a vote, not an attribution. We record who says what and leave the comparison to you until a named source takes a position.

Where to buy Asad and price

On 3 November 2026 we checked our affiliate retailers. Scento (Germany, shipping across the EU) listed Asad as a 2 ml decant at €5.90, 5 ml at €9.90 and an 8 ml travel spray at €13.90, all in stock. We could not verify a full-bottle price at our other partners at this check, so none is shown. SCENTIVOIRE verdict

The strongest-documented men’s profile in this batch and, at its price, a low-risk way to find out whether the amber-spicy register suits you. Sample the drydown before deciding, because that is where it spends its time.

Sources and methodology

Checked on 30 September 2026. The note pyramid, the sizes and the men’s designation are attributed to Lattafa; the concentration is attributed to the brand’s US store, because neither of the house’s product pages states it. The launch year is the house’s claim and is not independently corroborated: the paragraph carrying it on lattafa.com reproduces Fragrantica’s text verbatim, and Parfumo records the year as unknown. No perfumer is credited because no source names one. The description of the scent is our editorial reading of the published composition. No SCENTIVOIRE skin test has been carried out. Longevity and projection are Parfumo community ratings (2,290 longevity votes), checked on 3 November 2026; versatility stays pending. Listed notes describe the olfactory composition, not proof of natural ingredients in the formula.
