BRAND-PUBLISHED NOTES · PARFUMO COMMUNITY SCORES
Lattafa Khamrah · At a glance
A spiced gourmand built on a dates accord, praline and cinnamon over roasted tonka and vanilla. This profile covers Khamrah Eau de Parfum, the original, not Dukhan or Qahwa.
An editorial candidate for cold-weather evenings and for anyone curious about Arabian perfumery without starting at an oud. One bottle size exists officially, so a decant is the sensible way to test it.
What does it smell like?
The opening is warm rather than fresh. Cinnamon and nutmeg arrive almost immediately, with bergamot behind them doing little more than keeping the spices from turning dusty. It smells like something baked rather than something citrus.
The heart is where the fragrance earns its reputation: a dates accord, sweet and slightly leathery in the way dried fruit is, thickened by praline. Tuberose and a muguet-type material sit underneath and stop the sweetness becoming flat, though you are unlikely to read them as flowers.
The base is the long part. Roasted tonka, vanilla and Laos benzoin give a boozy, resinous warmth, myrrh adds a dry bitterness that keeps it from being a dessert, and akigalawood brings a peppery woodiness. What people describe as the “boozy dates” impression is this base meeting the heart, not the opening.
This is our reading of the composition as published by the house, not a wear test: how it behaves on your skin, and for how long, is something only sampling will tell you.
Where these notes come from
Unusually for this catalogue, the notes are the house’s own: Lattafa publishes a three-tier Fragrance Notes block for Khamrah, so nothing here is taken from a database.
Two caveats we would rather state than hide. First, the house contradicts itself on the heart: lattafa.com lists “Lily Of The Valley” while the brand’s own US store, Fragrantica and Parfumo all list Mahonial, a captive muguet-type material. We have followed the three-source reading and recorded the divergence. Second, the concentration is not declared on lattafa.com at all; the Eau de Parfum designation comes from the brand’s US store, which is the citation below.
Choosing the right version
Khamrah, Khamrah Qahwa and Khamrah Dukhan are three different fragrances, and the house also sells a Khamrah deodorant and air freshener. Compare the full name on the box before buying.
Longevity and projection
The longevity and projection scores on this profile are Parfumo community ratings for this exact fragrance, checked on 3 November 2026 — not a SCENTIVOIRE skin test. Parfumo publishes no versatility score, so we show none. Your skin, dose and climate will change the result.
Longevity
Parfumo members rate longevity 8.4/10 (4,623 ratings).
Projection
Parfumo members rate sillage 8.2/10 (4,597 ratings).
Versatility
Pending. Parfumo publishes no versatility score, so this profile shows none rather than an estimate. The season suggestions below are guidance, not a score.
Best seasons to wear it
Autumn and winter are the natural starting points, and cold indoor air suits the dates-and-tonka accord particularly well. Spring evenings are worth a try. Real heat is the condition to assess deliberately rather than assume. Editorial suggestions, not seasonal scores.
Who is it for?
For someone who enjoys sweet, spiced, dessert-adjacent perfumery and wants to understand why this one became the reference point for a whole category. If you dislike cinnamon or heavy vanilla, the opening will tell you within minutes.

What others compare it to, and who disagrees
Khamrah is widely described as an alternative to By Kilian Angels’ Share. We are not making that claim, and we think the disagreement is more informative than the comparison. The claim circulates in forum posts and database reviews written under pseudonyms; the one signed editorial source we located takes the opposite view. Elena Prokofeva, reviewing Khamrah for Fragrantica in December 2022, writes that it “is not a copy of Angels’ Share By Kilian and cannot replace it.” Two of the pseudonymous reviewers who raise the comparison also qualify it, calling it “only loosely inspired” and “decidedly NOT a clone”.
Our Arabian Alternatives tool publishes a relation only where a named source supports it. For this pairing, the named source denies it.
Where to buy Khamrah and price
On 3 November 2026 we checked our affiliate retailers. Scento (Germany, shipping across the EU) listed Khamrah as a 2 ml decant at €5.90, 5 ml at €9.90 and an 8 ml travel spray at €13.90, all in stock. We could not verify a full-bottle price at our other partners at this check, so none is shown. Khamrah is worth sampling on its own terms rather than as a substitute for something else. Its interest is the dates accord, which is not a common material in designer perfumery, and the fact that the house publishes its own note pyramid — which is more than several luxury maisons in this catalogue do.

Sources and methodology
- Lattafa · official product page, note pyramid, size and gender
- Lattafa US · the only official channel that states the concentration
- Fragrantica · corroboration of the pyramid and the Mahonial reading
- Parfumo · independent corroboration of the pyramid
- Elena Prokofeva · signed review, Fragrantica, 8 December 2022
Checked on 30 September 2026. The note pyramid, the launch year, the sizes and the unisex designation are attributed to Lattafa; the concentration is attributed to the brand’s US store, because the house’s own site does not state it. The house’s site and Fragrantica are not independent sources for this brand: the descriptive paragraph on lattafa.com reproduces Fragrantica’s text verbatim, so we count them as one documentary chain and rely on Parfumo for independent corroboration. The description of the scent is our editorial reading of that published composition. No SCENTIVOIRE skin test has been carried out. Longevity and projection are Parfumo community ratings (4,623 longevity votes), checked on 3 November 2026; versatility stays pending. Listed notes describe the olfactory composition, not proof of natural ingredients in the formula.
